Support Nordic Academic Traditions!

Donate and join Foundation Nordic Summer University and support academic freedom and critical thinking through collaborative research and discussions.

Our Guiding Principles

We champion academic freedom and open intellectual exchange. We promote folkbildning, the Nordic tradition of lifelong learning and personal development. We are a voluntary organisation supporting students and researchers.

Empowering Through Education

Nordic Summer University invites everyone to participate in interdisciplinary study circles and explore diverse topics from philosophy and literature to social sciences and environmental studies. Engage with scholars and students from various backgrounds, fostering collaboration and innovative perspectives. Join us in pushing the boundaries of intellectual inquiry.

Creating Civil Resilience Through Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Nordic Summer University strengthens civil society’s resilience against the influence of (dis)information through a well-established collaboration between cultural actors, voluntary organizations and science.

Folkbildning Initiatives

Nordic Summer University engages in folkbildning initiaties that promote lifelong learning and personal development. Study circles are led by volunteers who organise workshops, seminars, around an interdisciplinary theme, designed to broaden your horizons. Explore diverse subjects and engage in stimulating discussions. Connect with like-minded individuals and share your knowledge and experiences. We believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities.

Attending Nordic Summer University has restored my hope in the future of humanity. To experience and contribute to collaboration across disciplines and hierarchies has allowed me to become a better researcher and human being.
